Has it been 5 years already since “Soul Movement” Vol 1 first knocked a hole in our eardrums? It must have, because Slakah The Beatchild just streamed an album teaser on Soundcloud. Soul Movement 2 is set to release this summer and is said to feature Glenn Lewis, Justin Nozuka, Andreena Mill and Tingsek to new a few. Simply put, Slakah is bringin’ the cracka this year!
Straight from the cold north of the Dutch low lands, it’s Groningen’s illest producer Koen who’s back. He’s doing this remix for fellow Dutchie Shak and decided to stream “1068” on his Soundcloud page.
Surely one of the most highly enticipated albums of 2013 is Jose James‘ upcoming “No Beginning No End” album. It is due on Blue Note Records tomorrow, so keep an ear out for this one. After having to push back the release of Seravince‘s “Hear To See”, the time is finally come for you to find out what’s it’s all about. For us this album is heavily Jazz influenced, with the necessary broken vibes. Super organic sounding Future Soul with a little bit of this and that sprinkled on top. The sheer quality of how it was recorded and mixed down alone, make this an album well worth your while. Richard Spaven played took care of the drums, while Sharlene Hector, Renee Neufville and Esperanzah deliverd all the vocal goods. Shout out to all other musicians who participated on this project such as Han Litz and Joni Love on flute, Kasper Kalf and Danny Samar on bass, Arthur Flink on trumpet and Tini Thomsen on bass clarinet.

Osunlade is one of those artists who has been consistantly releases the finest albums. I’ve been grooving to Yoruba Soul remixes for the longest, but who hasn’t?! “A Man With No Past Originating The Future” is his latest offering and perhaps his most personal and diverse creation to date. Osunlade’s 7th studio album does not just contain soulful House music. No, this album is far more complex and streches many musical boundries. I’d rather not go too deep into trying to explain what I think of the album, because each human being will experience it differently. Real music from the heart is all that I have to say. “A Man With No Past Originating The Future” will be available January 28th on limited edition clear vinyl (100 copies only) and on CD.

Sauce81 aka Sauce Eighty Wonder scored some serious points last year with his tremendously nice remix for Julien Dyne. Nobu is without a doubt one of our favorite producers hailing from Tokyo Japan! His debut “Fade Away” EP is available as of today on Wonderful Noise, but there is also talk of a debut solo album dropping later this year Disque Corde. The 12″ is now available at HHV.
