Jarreau Vandal Richard Spaven
01.10.15

Two days in a fully state-of-the-art sound-equiped room at the Red Bull Studios Amsterdam with Jarreau Vandal and drummer Richard Spaven. What is that like?

It’s something like a comforting English cup of tea with a splash of milk. Richard Spaven has deep pockets, a ridiculous swing and he is one of the nicest guys out there. No one should ever charge this guy for a cup of hot water, he brings his own teabags. Serving as the backbone for the experimental talent of Jarreau Vandal we can’t wait to see what they’ll cook up in the next two days. We can only describe it as a sultry shower of Brazillian, Electro-like, snare-huggin’, melodic vibes coming your way. A shower you don’t want to get out of, we promise you. The endresult will be available within a month. Stay dirty and tuned.

As you all can read, my name isn’t Nilez. Thank god, I don’t have his looks either. You can expect to see more posts by me from now on. As a long time silent reader the time has come for me to put my love for music into words and what better place than here at Moovmnt? Hi, I’m Xuan. Nice to meet you.

Fid Mella
30.09.15

Been a bit busy lately, but had to squeeze in some time to let you all know about a project by Jamin & Fid Mella from Vienna.

Fid is no stranger to us, but it seems he has been lurking in the background for a while. Thanks to Suff Diddawg for making me aware of this. I had never heard of Jamin before, but the two dropped their “Augenring” album a few weeks back.

All tracks are produced by Fid Mella and thanks to Hector Macello Records all 16 tracks are available as a free download or you can name your price right here on Bandcamp.

Blended Babies
28.09.15

The artist formerly known as Breezy Lovejoy has been in the fast lane ever since he was featured on Dr. Dre’s new “Compton” album. Sir Anderson Paak might just be one of the nicest vocalists in the game right about now. Hype or no hype.

Now this “The Anderson Paak EP“, produced entirely by production duo Blended Babies (JP and Rich Gains) out of Los Angeles, came out before the weekend. It features Asher Roth and Donnie Trumpet and is well worth a listen if you ask us. The track “Make It Work” is quite pleasant to the ear, but don’t take our word for it and find out for yourself what this Blended Babies EP is all about.

Werk Space Jasper Staal
25.09.15

Jasper Staal from the northern city of Groningen is a bit of an oddball at times, but a good guy never the less. He represents the Darker Than Wax crew and visited the Red Bull Studios Amsterdam for our monthly Werk Space series.

Together with his knob twisting friend and Beatsofreen, Jasper laid down the foundation for some fresh new music. Of course you can hear the full track titled “Higherrr” next week when it drops on Soundcloud. Until then enjoy this short video about the man of staal.

Lizzie Nightingale
22.09.15

After two weeks of exclusive premieres, it feels good to bring you some new music from miss Lizzie Nightingale. This singer / songwriter was born in Glasgow and now resides in the city of London.

Last month she released her “Transition” EP which was produced entirely by our Canadian brother Slakah The Beatchild and written by Lizzie Nightingale herself. The two got down and dirty on the Soul tip and on the track “Free”, which is our favorite track, it becomes clear why this collaboration is so good.

We suggest you get involved, listen to some good music and support by paying a few quid for five songs.

Over & Over EP
19.09.15

This new “Over & Over” EP from El Train & Miki Rose is kinda special to me, because I have seen both grow over the past year as artists.

Miss Miki Rose (Los Angeles) was in search of producers to work with and when I linked her with Brighton-based El Train, a match in heaven was made. I remember Miki telling me she was hopping on the train to visit El Train and work on some music together. Never would I have imagined the two cranking out five songs together resulting in Over & Over in such a short period of time.

Their Futuristic R&B vibe is easy on the ears and we kindly suggest you take a listen to the first three songs of their Over & Over EP here. The remaining two tracks are so Good Good, it might F with U. The entire EP is available now on iTunes or Bandcamp for those that do not fux with Apple.

CLAUDE Whoop
18.09.15

CLAUDE, who is also known as Fulgeance, is about to release his brand new “Whoop” EP on the French Musique Large imprint.

The 5-track strong release includes traces of Funk, Deep House and Bass music and can only be described as a natural progression from last year’s “Solid” EP. One of our favorite tracks is the intensely deep, hooky remix of “Busted” by Tartelet/Money $ex representative Glenn Astro, which we happily premiere exclusively on our Soundcloud today. Another amazing track of CLAUDE’s Whoop EP, is “That Jazz“, which was premiered via Boiler Room some time ago and the title track is mean as f*ck!

This EP will come out September 25th and surely cements CLAUDE’s status as one of the freshest producers in modern house music right now. Mastered by edit king DJ Vas and original logo by Emile ‘VECT’ Sacré. Either pre-order this action-packed EP on Bandcamp or iTunes.

The quartet’s sound is dynamic and lively, mixing improvisation and more written parts all together into their very own recipe. La Recette’s music is drenched in Soul it is a true pleasure to premiere their first single “You Got Me” of their forthcoming self-titled EP out October 5th on Cosmonostro. Pre-orders available on Bandcamp.

Kadhja Bonet
15.09.15

I fell in love with miss Kadhja Bonet at the beginning of this year and have been a fanboy ever since. Her arrangements combined with her airy angelic voice have caused me goosebumps on not one, but on several occasions.

Her latest adventure is titled “The Visitor” EP and on it she takes us on a journey through Jazz, Folk and Soul music with a twist of Electronica and Pop if you will. Me using all these genres basically means I’m at a loss for words and that miss Kadhja Bonet is in a league of her own. The EP was arranged and written by miss Bonet and produced together with Itai Shapira, who happens to be the other half of Genesea (you will want to check this out).

In case you would like to know a bit more about this wonderful soul, please check out our little interview with Kadhja from January. Her EP can be pre-ordered on Bandcamp and is out today!

Jonah Christian
13.09.15

Jonah Christian is a producer, composer, arranger and musician from Los Angeles, California that some of you might know about already.

He happens to also be one of the co-founders of a band name Joomanji, who’s music was featured on BamaLoveSoul’s compilation album “On Deck” 2. On this lazy Sunday afternoon, Jonah returns with a brand new track titled “Walk On” featuring the enchanting Joanna Borromeo and Austin Antoine.

We are giving away this lovely song as a free download on Soundcloud and in return we would like to ask you to show some love by following Jonah Christian on Soundcloud, hitting that Repost button or leave a nice comment.
